How to Use the DRIVEtheARC App

App Home - Map & Feature

Step 1
Map - Display the charging station pin in a close place from your vehicle on the app map.

(*) Gray colored pins are in use or failure.
Step 2
Pin - Types of station pins on the map.
DRIVEtheARC station - DC Fast charger Station discounts Charging by NEDO.
EVgo station - DC Fast charger Station provided by EVgo.

Filter - Change the type of station pin.
Step 3
"Information" slide bar
The latest information will be informed and tap to go to the website.
Step 4
Tap the "Discount Schedule" button at the bottom of the MAP
Displays the discount rate schedule of the charging station for the next 4 hours.

Check your Cruising Range

Step 1
Tap the bottom of the main map to input your EV’s State of Charge (SOC).
Step 2
Tap the microphone icon or the button to “Input Manually” to input your EV’s State of Charge (SOC) by voice or keypad.
Step 3
If the State of Charge (SOC) is correct, click “OK”.
Step 4
SOC is updated. You can always update your SOC by tapping here.
Step 5
Click the above icon to display your cruising range.

View the station’s availability & request navigation to the station

Step 1
Tap the pin to see the station information.
Step 2
Station - Evgo
Displays detailed information of the selected station.
Address, number of chargers, status

With Station-DRIVEtheARC, both CHAdeMO and CCS Combo vehicle users to receive discount rate at the DRIVEtheARC station.

How to receive the discount on charging is to select the time slot when you want to use the charger.
*Discount rates vary depending on the campaign and busy hours.
 
Also, when charging, scroll vertically to see the name of the charger.
To check the details of the charger, tap (i mark) on the upper right and slide to additional information of the charger.
Step 4
Charger information
Charger peripheral photo, latitude and longitude location information (Tap to Google Map), Failure information report, Charging session history.
Step 5
Tap “Navigation to the Station” to start navigation to the destination via the selected station.
Step 6
Google Maps app is automatically launched and it navigates you to the station.

User Registration

Step 1
Launch the DRIVEtheARC app and tap “Sign Up ”.
Step 2
Fill in the fields such as user name, e-mail address and password, and click "Next".
Step 3
Select your car make and model from the lists and click “Next”.
Step 4
Your registration is successfully completed. select "Yes" and tap "Next" to register "Evgo Account Link" Or, select "No" and click "Next" to log in.
Step 5
If you have an EVgo account, tap “Sign In”. If you do not have an EVgo account, tap "Sign Up" to register an account on the EVgo homepage.
Step 6
Enter your EVgo account email and password and tap Sign In.
Step 7
"Successfully fully linked EVgo account" is displayed, tap Back button.

Charge with DRIVEtheARC mobile app

Step 1
When you arrive at the DRIVEtheARC station, check charger’s asset number on its screen.
 
Step 4
Tap the appropriate plug type for your EV.
Step 5
Grab the appropriate plug and connect it with your EV.
Step 6
Make sure charger asset number, plug type & your check-in ticket details, then tap “Star
Step 7
DRIVEtheARC mobile app will show your successful authentication process to start charging. (In case that DRIVEtheARC mobile app displays an error message, please try the above steps again. If errors repeat, please contact EVgo call center.)
Step 8
After the connection, the charger will start initiating a charging session.
 
When charging starts, a questionnaire may be displayed.
 
If you answer a simple question, you can get a Green Ticket that will give you a free next charge.
Step 9
The charger’s screen will show state of charging rate, charging time, power and energy delivered.
Step 10
Stop the charging session by tapping “STOP” button on charger screen and disconnect the plug from your EV. (The charging session will automatically stop if your EV is fully charged.)
Step 2
Tap the balloon icon of the DRIVEtheARC station to display chargers of the station.
Step 3
Make sure you have a check-in ticket eligible for your arrival time, and tap “Charge” button. (If you do not have an appropriate check-in ticket, please press a time slot box of your arrival time to get a new check-in ticket.)
 
When charging stations are crowded, we recommend charging stations nearby to reduce congestion.
Tap "YES" to display charging station candidates.
 
Choose a charging station from the candidate list, Get special discount tickets.

Find recommended station on the way to the destination

Step 1
Input your destination.
Step 2
Your destination is set up. Click “Recommended Stations” to find the recommended stations on the way to the destination.
Step 3
The recommended stations are shown on the map. Click the station name you want to use. If you tap a pin on the map, the station information will be displayed.
Step 4
Click “Navigation” to start navigation to the destination via the selected station.
Step 5
Google Maps app is automatically launched and it navigates you to the destination via the station you selected.

Charger Reservation by Smartphone App at DRIVEtheARC Station

Step 1
Select Pacific Pearl Station on MAP and press reservation button of DC2.
Step 2
Select the scheduled charging time slot.
Step 3
Please read the contents of the reserved charger and disclaimer, press Reserve button.
Step 4
Reservation time is displayed in the upper right of MAP, and when tapped it transits to reservation details screen.
Notes
Charging can be started 10 minutes before reservation time.
When you arrive at the charging station, please select Menu> Charge Activation and start charging by reading the QR code displayed on the charger.

Please move the car promptly when reservation time is over.
